Meet SUE

Meet JON

Jon received his BFA in Illustration from California State University - Long Beach. After college, he pursued a career in the animation industry. Over the last 30+ years he's worked as an artist at Skybound, Disneytoon Studios, Disney Television, Disney Interactive, Digital Domain, nVIDIA, Imagi animation Studios, Nickelodeon, Dreamworks Television, Bardel Entertainment, Warner Bros., Sony Imageworks ...and many others. 

Early on he discovered an enjoyment of teaching. He has taught at The Art Institute of Los Angeles and The Art Institute of Orange County. Since 2011 he's been teaching Computer Animation and now Digital Fabrication Lab at his alma mater 

California State University, Long Beach

Some of his previous students have gone on to work in the animation industry at studios such as PIXAR, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Stan Winston, Santa Monica Studios (Sony games), Sony Imageworks, Method Studios, Psyop, Asylum Visual Effects, The Third Floor, Rhythm and Hues and Digital Domain...to name a few.

Sue has an art degree and single subject art teaching credential from California State University, Long Beach.  After college, Sue taught art and regular education at the elementary and secondary level for many years. She recently obtained a MS in education from California State University, Fullerton and has spent the last few years lecturing in art history and art appreciation, training students in art and in-servicing parents and teachers in art education.

 

Currently, Sue teaches art lessons for Long Beach Unified School District.  She is also continuing in her professional development as an art educator.  Her goal is to bring art into the regular ed classroom and spread the joy that can be found in art and art appreciation as often as she can.
